The last few weeks have been really hard for my wife and I. Today we ran out of food and only had a Target gift card I got from a survey I did. So we set out on a three miles walk to pickup some food to eat. $25 is not alot but God works in ways we can't understand. We did a online pickup order for target and started walking with my small luggage bag to carry the food back. We were gonna walk a total of three miles to target to get food. Well, God had told
Valerie
about a week ago that we were going to need to pay attention for a black truck. Well today that truck pulled up beside us and asked if we were alright. We told the driver we were just waking to Target to get food since we only had a gift card. He asked if we wanted a ride there. We decided to take the offer. He gave us a ride and I went in while Valerie waited in the truck with Wilbur. I went in and had to cancel the order because it would take too long to get ready.
So I went in and did some shopping. I can't say that I was thinking about the total cost of the food, as I was tired and have had a long day. The Target employee started getting items scanned. We had gotten a conversation about what we have been doing. Told him about what we've been going through and about being full-time ministry leader having a tough time. He finished scanning the food and he scanned my gift card and I didn't realize how much it was until I got home and looked at the amount I had left.
It turns out the Target employee paid for our groceries they went over $25 I remember the price for each item so I had done the math and it definitely costed more then $25. Well I finished checking out and got back to the truck that we were in. And I found out the driver is a Christian and that he has a ministry he's getting started. He gave us a ride back and then we got back to the motel we have been staying at. He said. I don't handle the bills so I don't carry much cash. He opened his wallet and grave us everything he had and then opened his center console between the two seats and then looked for every dollar bills he had and he handed me a total of $17 in cash. I didn't expect that to happen.
You see, I have a great God who takes care of me. I didn't want to go out today because I didn't want to walk 3 miles there and 3 back. But I went out anyway and my Abba Father provided a way. We have been faithful to what He calls us to do and He knows what we have been in need of. Just think if we didn't go out and stayed in the motel room, we would be hungry and have not met the two gentleman who helped us today.
I don't know your name Mr. TARGET EMPLOYEE but thank you for your help. My wife and I really appreciate it.
And to the truck and it's driver, you know who I am talking about, you are a true Man of God and I just wanted to let everyone know this miracle and say thank you to you both.
From the Matthews family I want to say thank you.
